Substatik Recordings is an independent record label, zine syndicate, and radio transmission dedicated to raw, uncompromising music from the edges — punk, metal, jazz, dub, garage, psych, experimental, and beyond.

Founded in 2016 by Benny Munday (Bricklayer/Devastations/Roadkill Radio), Substatik was built from tape hiss and poverty. Rooted in a DIY ethos, we exist as an outlet for those who don’t belong anywhere else.

We champion artists operating outside the margins, prioritizing authenticity over polish. If it rattles, loops, howls, or bleeds, we’ll press it.

We kicked off with a scorched earth debut by German apocalyptos Schlüsselchrist, and the floodgates haven’t shut since.
